Castello di Tassarolo

Italy

Castello di Tassarolo is a family-owned Spinola estate in Tassarolo, in Piedmont’s Gavi DOCG, led by Massimiliana Spinola with her husband Henry Finzi-Constantin. The family’s ties to the property stretch back centuries, and the estate has been farmed biodynamically since 2006. Certified organic, biodynamic, and vegan, it works with manual harvests, green manures, biodynamic preparations, and draft horses, with a strong focus on biodiversity and respect for nature. In the cellar, the approach is minimal-intervention: stainless steel, amphorae and some oak are used, with unfiltered wines, wild yeasts, and several bottlings made without added sulfites. The wines are presented as clean, balanced, and elegant, rooted in natural farming and careful craftsmanship.
