Carta Vieja is the family-owned label of the historic Viña del Pedregal estate in Chile’s Maule Region, where the 7th and 8th generations of the Del Pedregal family continue to manage the vineyards and winery. Based in Villa Alegre, the estate spans four vineyard sites with sedimentary soils formed from river and glacial deposits, ranging from loam to sandy loam with deep gravel. Farming includes cover crops across all fields and inter-row nitrogen-fixing cultivation. The wines reflect a Central Valley setting shaped by diverse soils and native vegetation, backed by a long-established family estate.
