Weingut Emmerich Knoll

Austria

Weingut Emmerich Knoll is a multigenerational family estate in Austria’s Wachau, with steep terraced vineyards in noted sites including Kellerberg, Loibenberg, Pfaffenberg and Schütt. The winery is run by the Knoll family, with Emmerich Knoll III working alongside his brother August and parents Emmerich Sr. and Monika, while the wider family is also active in Vinea Wachau. Farming and production emphasize hand-harvested fruit, native-yeast fermentations, stainless-steel vinification, and élevage in old or neutral oak casks and foudres, with lees aging also noted. The estate is part of Sustainable Austria and the Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus quality program, and is particularly focused on Grüner Veltliner and Riesling.
