Umberto Cesari is a large, family-owned winery in Emilia-Romagna, founded in 1967. From an initial 20 hectares, it has grown to about 350 hectares of vineyards and produces over 3.5 million bottles annually. Now led by the founder's son, Gianmaria Cesari, the estate operates 12 distinct farmsteads (poderi) across the hills of Castel San Pietro Terme and Montecatone. The philosophy blends an artisanal soul with advanced technology, focusing on sustainable, SQNPI-certified viticulture. Winemaking emphasizes rapid processing, with grapes reaching the cellar within an hour of harvest, and aging in a mix of French Allier barriques and large Slavonian oak casks. The estate also offers extensive hospitality and corporate event facilities.
