Tenuta Ulisse is a family-run estate in Abruzzo, founded in 2006 by brothers Antonio and Luigi Ulisse, who own and operate the winery. With 55 hectares of vineyards spread across Crecchio, Lanciano, and Ortona, the winery focuses on indigenous varieties like Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Trebbiano, Pecorino, Passerina, and Cococciola, alongside some international grapes. The brothers practice sustainable viticulture, though they hold no formal organic or biodynamic certifications. Their winemaking philosophy, termed 'Metodo Ulisse,' emphasizes innovation—using techniques like immediate freezing of grapes to preserve aromas—and aims to transfer the integrity of the grape cluster directly to the glass. Production began modestly with 36,000 bottles in 2007 and has grown to a cumulative 15 million bottles by 2023, positioning the winery as a key player in Abruzzo's quality renaissance.
