Porseleinberg is a small Swartland estate in South Africa’s Western Cape, owned by Marc Kent of Boekenhoutskloof since 2009. With around 16 hectares of vines, it focuses exclusively on a single Syrah grown on rocky schist soils and released in very limited, cult-style quantities. The farm completed its conversion to 100% organic farming in 2016, following earlier biodynamic experiments. Callie Louw led the winemaking for fifteen vintages before Eben Meiring took over in 2024, with portfolio oversight from Gottfried Mocke and blending by Marc Kent. Its focused production, distinctive site, and organic farming underline a highly individual estate style.
