Pleil is a family-owned winery in Wolkersdorf, Weinviertel, where Christian Pleil continues a generations-old winemaking tradition after taking over his parents’ estate. Trained at Klosterneuburg and shaped by experience in Germany, California, South Africa, and Australia, he pursues clear, refreshing wines that express authentic variety and origin. White wines are fermented in temperature-controlled tanks to preserve fruit and varietal character, while reds undergo malolactic fermentation in wood, with some receiving barrique ageing. The estate is certified Nachhaltig Austria, meeting economic, environmental, and social criteria, and is also certified to the Weinviertel quality standard as a model operation. Pleil is a member of Premiumweingüter Weinviertel.
