La Clef du Récit is a small, authentic estate near the heights of Sancerre in the Centre-Loire, owned and run by winemaker Anthony Girard, who acquired it in 2012. Its vineyards are farmed according to organic principles with an emphasis on sustainable practices, across Caillottes gravel-limestone and flinty soils. Girard produces Sancerre, Menetou-Salon and Quincy, highlighting individual sites including limestone heights in Thauvenay and Kimmeridgian terroirs in Morogues. The wines reflect a thoughtful approach that includes late harvesting and maturation in barrels and concrete amphorae.
