Domaine Raspail-Ay

France

Domaine Raspail-Ay is a family-run estate in Gigondas, in the Rhône Valley, owned and operated by Dominique Ay. The domaine farms a contiguous block of mid-slope terraces with clay, limestone and sand soils, and old vines averaging around 40 to 60 years. Farming is described as sustainable or reasoned, without formal certification. The estate is focused primarily on a single red Gigondas, with a small amount of rosé. Winemaking emphasizes traditional methods, including hand harvesting, full destemming, long maceration in enamel-coated concrete vats, natural yeast fermentation, and extended aging in large oak foudres. The wines are also noted as vegetarian and vegan friendly.
