Domaine Merlin is a family-owned estate based in La Roche-Vineuse in the Mâconnais, today run by Paul and Théo Merlin, with Corinne and Olivier Merlin overseeing vinification and élevage. Rebuilt from the former Vieux Saint-Sorlin estate taken over in 1987, it remains rooted in artisanal vineyard work and a strong attachment to the terroirs of southern Burgundy and nearby Beaujolais. The family emphasizes hand harvesting, whole-bunch pressing, long and careful élevage in oak, minimal intervention, and respect for the vine and its environment, without formal organic or biodynamic certification. Their wines, from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Gamay, are described as balanced, pure, deep and harmonious.
