Domaine de la Motte Visset Boisneau

France

Domaine de la Motte Visset Boisneau is a family-owned estate in Rochefort-sur-Loire, near Angers, in Anjou Noir. Its vineyards lie on ancient schist and sandstone soils and are farmed organically, with official AB certification beginning with the 2025 vintage. Harvesting is carried out by hand. The estate’s plantings include Chenin, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grolleau Noir, Grolleau Gris and Pineau d’Aunis, with Chenin representing half of the vineyard area. The domaine’s history dates to around 1935, when lands from the Sorin and Gouzil families were brought together. Current owner Gwennael Visset, whose background is in plant biology, emphasizes working with nature.
