Domaine Combier is a multi-generational family estate in Pont de l’Isère in the Rhône Valley, best known for Crozes-Hermitage, including the parcel wine Clos des Grives, and also producing Saint-Joseph. Founded in 1936, it is now run by Laurent Combier with the next generation, Julien and David Combier. The domaine is noted as a pioneer of organic farming in France, having worked organically since around 1969–1970, with a broader commitment to living soils, biodiversity and respect for nature and terroir. Vineyard work is central to the estate’s philosophy, and winemaking is described as low-intervention, aiming for joyful, charming wines with immediate fruit, finesse and elegance, using concrete, stainless steel and wood according to the cuvée.
