Divina Proporción is a small, family-run winery in the Vega de Toro, Castilla y León, founded by Máximo San José de la Rosa in 2009. Máximo and his brother Juan cultivate and closely monitor the vineyards, while his wife Yovana manages the administrative, commercial, and public relations work. Focused on the historic Tinta de Toro grape, the family believes the soul of the wine lies in the vines. They handle the fruit as gently as possible, harvesting in the early morning into small boxes so the grapes arrive whole and fresh, with pre-fermentation maceration used to preserve fruit character. The winery’s first vines were planted in 2010 and its first wine made in 2011.
