Founded in 1933 near Verona, Cantina Valpolicella Negrar is a cooperative owned by 240 grower members farming more than 700 hectares in Valpolicella Classica. The winery has a long association with Amarone and specializes in the Appassimento tradition, with hand-harvested and rigorously selected grapes dried in one of Italy’s largest fruttai. Around 20% of its vineyards are organically managed, supported by detailed technical bulletins, integrated pest management, and research into precision and sustainable viticulture. Its wines, including Amarone, Valpolicella Ripasso and other regional whites and reds, combine local tradition with modern techniques and ongoing quality research. Technical leadership includes Christian Zulian and Carlo Callari, while the cooperative’s generational membership maintains a strong connection to the territory.
