Today’s Vulkanland Steiermark brings volcanic and sedimentary vineyard settings into a varied Austrian white-wine landscape. Older labels and references may use Südoststeiermark for the region. Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot-family grapes and Traminer provide useful starting points; Klöch has a particular Traminer tradition. Treat the two regional names as historical and current wording for the same regional story, rather than two separate vineyard destinations.
