Ortrugo gives the Piacenza hills a distinctive local white-wine identity, from still freshness to gently fizzy and sparkling expressions.
Apple, citrus and herbs with a fresh, dry palate.
Citrus and orchard fruit with fresh acidity and a gentle prickle; sweetness varies.
The full DOC name is Ortrugo dei Colli Piacentini, also expressed through its permitted alternative form. Ortrugo is the principal grape, while the geographical name identifies its protected hillside home. Still, frizzante and spumante wines offer different textures and occasions. The denomination is separate from Colli Piacentini DOC, despite the shared landscape. Read the wine type and sweetness description to choose your preferred expression.
