Emilia IGT offers a broad wine identity across western Emilia-Romagna, with local grapes and varied red, white and rosé expressions.
Lambrusco varieties and supporting grapes vary by wine.
Cherry, berries and floral notes with freshness and gentle bubbles; sweetness varies.
Emilia or dell’Emilia IGT is a flexible protected origin with many grapes and wine types. Lambrusco-family wines are an inviting starting point, but the name is broader than one red fizzy style. White varieties and other reds add further possibilities. It differs from Emilia-Romagna DOC, whose Pignoletto identity has separate rules. Read the grape, pressure category and sweetness alongside the IGT to understand a bottle more precisely.
