Across the protected Emilia area, principally in the western provinces and eligible parts of Bologna.

Emilia or dell’Emilia IGT is a flexible protected origin with many grapes and wine types. Lambrusco-family wines are an inviting starting point, but the name is broader than one red fizzy style. White varieties and other reds add further possibilities. It differs from Emilia-Romagna DOC, whose Pignoletto identity has separate rules.
