Xarel·lo is a rewarding introduction to Penedès DO, ranging from fresh young whites to textured wines developed on lees or in wood. Reds and rosés add further variety. From the 2025 harvest, wines certified under the DO must be organic; this date does not describe every older vintage or every vineyard in the wider region. Clàssic Penedès identifies the DO’s traditional-method sparkling wines, with at least 18 months of ageing. It is distinct from Cava DO and the Corpinnat collective mark.
