Syrah
Goldfields country with rich Shiraz and red wines made for a hearty meal.
Dark fruit and warm spice, usually with a full-bodied, generous feel.
Blackcurrant, herbs and firm tannins, with savoury depth developing as the wine ages.
Warm days and cooler nights suit the region’s red varieties. Shiraz is the main calling card, with Cabernet Sauvignon adding a structured alternative.
