Cachapoal reveals Carménère’s generous, spicy side alongside structured reds from its cooler Andean-facing vineyards.
Plum, dark berries and peppery herbs with rounded tannins and a savoury finish.
Cabernet Sauvignon.
Dark berries, spice and firm tannins, with a fresh backbone in suitable foothill sites.
Cachapoal includes contrasting settings rather than a single uniform valley floor. Peumo is closely associated with Carménère, while the eastern foothill sector supports structured Cabernet-led wines and other reds. Altitude, river influence and vineyard position help explain the range. Explore a smaller origin or vineyard name to distinguish a warm sheltered site from an Andean-facing one.
