Chile’s Central Valley is a journey through Cabernet Sauvignon country, Carménère vineyards and the old-vine landscapes of the Maule. Stretching south from the Santiago area, it brings together Maipo, Rapel, Curicó and Maule, each with smaller origins worth exploring. Maipo’s Andean terraces offer structured reds; Cachapoal and Colchagua, within Rapel, reveal contrasting foothill, valley-floor and coastal-influenced sites. Curicó balances fresh Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay with expressive reds, while Maule adds País, Carignan and small-grower traditions. The Andes, river corridors and Coastal Range shape growing conditions across this broad region. Follow a more specific valley, area or vineyard on the label to discover the origin behind the grape. A winery’s address or brand name can differ from where its fruit grows.
