Across the defined wine-growing territory of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, from the plains to the eastern border hills and Karst.

Venezia Giulia IGT allows a wide range of approved grapes and blends, with varietal permissions that can depend on the province. Ribolla Gialla and Sauvignon Blanc offer different white expressions, and Merlot provides a red route. Some producers choose this designation for skin-contact white wines: amber colour and tannic texture come from the method, without implying sweetness. Venezia Giulia IGT is distinct from Friuli DOC and from the wider Trevenezie IGT.
