Forst is a wine village whose vineyard names give more precise origins. Pechstein includes basalt alongside other soils, while nearby sites have their own geology and exposure. Riesling is the clearest introduction to these contrasts. A village wine and a classified single-site wine offer different ways to explore; neither a soil name nor a famous site guarantees one fixed flavour.
