Costa d’Amalfi reveals a dramatic terrace-vineyard landscape and a wealth of local grapes beyond Campania’s best-known varieties.
Falanghina, Biancolella and local varieties such as Ripoli contribute in blends that vary by wine.
Citrus, orchard fruit and flowers with a fresh, dry palate.
Piedirosso and Aglianico are representative red grapes; other permitted local varieties can contribute.
Cherry, berries and savoury herbs with freshness and a dry, structured finish.
Costa d’Amalfi DOC includes whites, reds and rosés, with subzones adding geographical detail. Falanghina and Biancolella share the white story with local varieties such as Ripoli, Fenile and Ginestra. Piedirosso, Aglianico and other local grapes reveal the red side. These blends vary by type and place; a subzone name helps explain the vineyard landscape more precisely. Steep terraces are an important part of the region’s growing culture.
