Kitzeck leads into the steep, slate-rich vineyards of Kitzeck-Sausal.
Riesling.
Citrus and stone-fruit notes with lively acidity; this is Riesling rather than Welschriesling.
Kitzeck is a village within the broader Kitzeck-Sausal wine area. Its steep slopes and slate-rich settings distinguish this northern part of Südsteiermark. Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling are the leading Ortswein varieties. Look for Kitzeck-Sausal on the label to identify the delimited wine origin, then compare the vineyard and producer for different expressions of freshness, fruit and structure.
