The Douro’s central vineyard heart, where river bends frame great dry reds and Port.
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz.
Dense berry fruit, floral lift and a savoury finish. Old mixed vineyards can bring extra layers of flavour.
Rabigato, Viosinho and Gouveio.
Citrus and orchard fruit with freshness from well-chosen higher sites. Some wines gain texture through barrel ageing.
Cima Corgo is one of the Douro’s three subregions. Its hills supply both dry Douro wines and Port; elevation and vineyard exposure matter as much as the subregion name.
