About Seneca Lake

Seneca Lake Riesling

White

Citrus, orchard fruit and bright acidity, with sweetness varying by bottling.

Seneca Lake Cabernet Franc

Red

Fresh berries and herbs with moderate tannins and a savoury finish.

Where it grows: Around Seneca Lake in west-central New York, within the Finger Lakes AVA.

Seneca Lake is its own AVA within the wider Finger Lakes region. Its deep lake, varied shores and changing exposures provide different vineyard settings rather than one uniform terroir. Riesling is a natural starting point, while Cabernet Franc offers a red-wine comparison. The lake name narrows the wine’s origin without prescribing a grape, oak regime or sweetness.
