Florina offers aromatic whites and Xinomavro-based wines from Greece’s cool western Macedonian lake country.
Citrus and aromatic white fruit with fresh acidity.
Xinomavro, Syrah.
Red and dark berries with spice, acidity and a savoury tannic frame.
Florina PGI covers a wider range of grapes and wine types than the Xinomavro-centred Amynteo PDO. Sauvignon Blanc, Malagousia and Chardonnay offer inviting white discoveries, while Xinomavro and Syrah add red alternatives. Cold winters, elevation and lake influences form part of the growing story. Grape and producer help explain the differences within this broad protected origin.
