Calabria wines reveal southern Italy through sunlit coasts, inland hills and a wealth of local grapes. Gaglioppo leads the red-wine story around Cirò, now joined by the distinct Cirò Classico DOCG. Further north, Terre di Cosenza offers Magliocco Dolce reds and characterful whites such as Pecorello. Explore Savuto and Lamezia on the Tyrrhenian side, then head south for the dried-grape sweetness of Greco di Bianco. Smaller IGT origins bring still more discoveries. Coast, elevation and producer matter as much as latitude, making Calabria a rewarding region for expressive reds, fresh rosés and distinctive white wines.
