Esaro IGT preserves a historical chapter of the wines now covered by Terre di Cosenza.
Esaro was one of the IGT names revoked with the establishment of Terre di Cosenza DOC in 2011. The place continues as a named DOC subzone, so the word can appear in different historical label contexts. Follow the vintage and full designation when exploring an older bottle. The former IGT and today’s subzone should not be treated as two parallel current appellations.
