Wahluke Slope explores a warm, dry part of Columbia Valley, with generous reds and a broad vineyard landscape above the river.
Ripe plum, cherry and spice with a rounded palate and dry tannic structure.
Blackcurrant and dark berries with herbal detail and a firm, dry finish.
Wahluke Slope AVA has a comparatively warm inland growing environment, with wind-blown sandy soils common across its vineyard country. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot offer useful introductions, alongside white varieties such as Chardonnay. Individual sites and harvest decisions still create differences in freshness, ripeness and texture. Read a smaller vineyard reference when available, then use the grape and cellar approach to understand the wine’s style.
