Tualatin Hills is an AVA recognised in 2020, associated with Laurelwood windblown soils over older geological material. Its name is distinct from Laurelwood District, a neighbouring AVA within Chehalem Mountains. Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris offer contrasting introductions to suitable local vineyards; the AVA itself does not require those grapes.
