Tinta de Toro
Toro brings powerful Tempranillo into focus, with old-vine character, dark fruit and the firm structure of Spain’s inland plateau.
Tempranillo.
Black cherry, plum and spice with substantial tannins; oak-aged bottles can develop savoury depth.
Ripe red berries, flowers and warm spice with a generous, rounded palate.
Citrus, orchard fruit and herbal notes with a fresh, dry finish.
Tinta de Toro is the local expression of Tempranillo, rather than a separate international grape. Warm, dry summers and vineyard soils that include sand, stones and clay support reds ranging from fruit-led to deeply structured. Garnacha provides another red route, while whites and rosados broaden the appellation. An old-vine label describes the vines, not a guarantee that every bottle is heavy or heavily oaked.
