Red Mountain offers a focused Washington red-wine discovery, with Cabernet Sauvignon at the centre of a warm, compact vineyard landscape.
Blackcurrant, dark berries and spice with a concentrated, dry palate and firm tannins.
Red Mountain AVA is named for the landscape rather than an elevation comparable to a high mountain region. Warm conditions, wind and varied vineyard sites support structured reds, especially Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and Syrah also documented. The smaller origin makes a useful contrast to a broad Columbia Valley label. Producer, site and vintage still shape the balance of fruit and tannin, so a shared AVA is the beginning of the comparison.
