VDP.Pfalz is a regional growers’ association within the Pfalz wine region, rather than a separate appellation. Its classification helps distinguish estate, village and named-site wines. Grosses Gewächs identifies dry wines from VDP.GROSSE LAGE sites under the association’s rules. Riesling, Weissburgunder and Spätburgunder offer contrasting introductions; sweetness wording remains useful on other labels.
