Montepulciano 35–85%; Sangiovese 15–50%; other permitted red grapes up to 15%.
Although Superiore is a wine designation, Article 3 gives it a smaller geographic origin. This area is therefore a regulated subdivision; generic Superiore mentions in other Marche DOCs create no new places.
