Monastrell
Murcia wines invite you inland, where Monastrell thrives among dry hills, limestone-rich landscapes and vineyards with strong seasonal contrasts. Jumilla, Yecla and Bullas each offer a different route into the grape, from fruit-filled reds to more structured, aged bottles and fresh rosés. Bullas also provides a rewarding white-wine discovery through Macabeo. These are separate protected origins rather than three names for one wine style. Jumilla’s area crosses into Albacete in Castilla-La Mancha, while Yecla is tied to its own municipality. Compare the stated denomination, vineyard and producer to explore Murcia’s varied expression of southeastern Spanish wine.
