Barbagia IGT opens a wider wine conversation in Sardinia’s rugged interior.
The protected area includes a defined group of Nuoro-area towns rather than every place called Barbagia. It allows whites, reds and rosés, including specified frizzante types. The IGT follows a different framework from Cannonau di Sardegna DOC. A producer’s vineyard and blend information helps connect an individual bottle to these inland landscapes.
