Founded in 2010 by industry veterans Erin Mitchell and Randy Czech, Unturned Stone Wines works with organically grown grapes from vineyards across Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. Its sources include organic, biodynamic, dry-farmed, herbicide-free, and other sustainably managed sites, including historic and old-vine vineyards. The winery follows a natural, low-intervention approach: ferments occur naturally, decisions are guided by taste and experience rather than laboratory numbers, and nothing is added or removed apart from minimal sulfur when needed. The founders describe themselves as custodians of the process, believing that good wine is grown rather than made. Randy Czech brings winemaking and viticultural experience, while Erin Mitchell has a background in wine sales and buying. Commercial releases began in 2015.
