Domaine Chevallier Bernard

France

Domaine Chevallier Bernard is a family estate in Jongieux, Savoie, rooted in seven generations of winemaking. Jean-Pierre Bernard and Chantal Chevallier took over the domaine in 1996, joined by their son Antoine in 2016 and later Anaïs. The vineyards in Jongieux and Billième are planted to local Savoie varieties including Jacquère, Altesse and Mondeuse, alongside Chardonnay and Gamay, on steep south-west facing clay-limestone and glacial soils. The domaine works with environmental respect, including manual harvesting, manual weeding without chemicals, agroecology and biodiversity, and holds Haute Valeur Environnementale certification. Their wines are described through freshness, fruit and minerality, with a strong focus on terroir and careful, low-intervention handling in the cellar.
