Varvaglione

Italy

Founded in 1921, Varvaglione is a family-owned winery in Leporano, Taranto, at the historic Masseria Pizzariello. Now spanning four to five generations, the family focuses on native Apulian varieties including Primitivo, Negroamaro, Verdeca, Falanghina and Susumaniello, combining attention to terroir, soil and microclimate with modern winemaking and vineyard techniques. Cosimo Varvaglione serves as winemaker, while several family members contribute to the business. Varvaglione holds Equalitas sustainability certification, organic certification for selected wines, and ISO certifications covering quality, traceability, food safety and environmental management. Its sustainability work includes precision agriculture, renewable energy and a published sustainability report.
