Tenuta di Sesta

Italy

Tenuta di Sesta is a historic, family-owned estate in Montalcino, Tuscany, with roots dating to 1850. The Ciacci family, now led by Giovanni with his children Andrea and Francesca managing operations, farms 30 hectares of vines within a 200-hectare property. They focus on traditional, low-intervention viticulture—including manual pruning and hand-harvesting—and employ a climate-responsive 'Going Green' approach, though without formal certification. Winemaking emphasizes gentle gravity transfer, stainless-steel fermentation, and extended aging in large Slavonian oak barrels. Production is modest, with only about 3,000 bottles of Brunello Riserva crafted annually, reflecting a dedicated, artisanal scale.
