Tellurian Wines is a family-owned producer founded by Ian Hopkins in 2002 in Heathcote, Victoria. Its 23 hectares of organically certified vines in Toolleen lie on the region’s red Cambrian soils and are managed with a focus on sustainability and vine health. The winery, built on-site in 2011, makes small-batch wines from Rhône varieties including Shiraz, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier, alongside Italian varieties such as Fiano and Nero d’Avola. Chief Winemaker Tobias Ansted aims to produce benchmark Heathcote wines that express their site, with a contemporary, elegant style and a considered, minimal-intervention approach.
