Podere Paganico

Italy

Podere Paganico is a very small estate in Montalcino, Tuscany, with just over three hectares of vineyards planted entirely to Sangiovese Grosso at 240–270 metres. Owned by Anna Maria Buzdon, the estate is actively worked by her husband Andrea, a pharmacist devoted to viticulture, who also operates the tractor. Vineyard management has progressively moved toward a more traditional, less invasive approach, although no organic or biodynamic certification is reported. The estate produces Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino and Orcia Rosso, including Orcia Abelardo, from locally grown Sangiovese.
