Portugal

Valriz is the port-wine label of the family-owned Coimbra De Mattos estate in Portugal’s Douro, operated by a father-and-son team from a family with seven generations of viticultural experience. The estate manages vineyards across seven quintas and works with indigenous Douro varieties including Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca. Traditional, low-tech practices are retained, with production focused on modest, limited releases such as the 600-bottle 1858 Tawny. The family also produces still wines under other Quinta names. No sustainability certifications are noted.
