Producer

La Spinetta

Italy

La Spinetta is a family-run estate in Piedmont, founded in 1977 by Giuseppe Rivetti and now led by his sons Giorgio, Bruno, and Carlo, with key roles also held by Eleonora and Giovanna Rivetti. The winery practices certified organic viticulture (since the 2021 vintage), emphasizing low yields, green harvests, and respect for old vines and soil health. It avoids chemicals, irrigation, and heavy machinery, with some plots worked by hand and horse. While owning about 125 hectares in Piedmont and 65 in Tuscany, its Piedmont Nebbiolo production remains focused, with yields limited to roughly 1,600 bottles per acre. The philosophy centers on vineyard work, native varieties, and expressing terroir, supported by a dedicated team. The estate also revived the historic Contratto sparkling wine house and runs a direct-engagement One Liter Club.
