Joostenberg

South Africa

Joostenberg is a fifth-generation, family-owned estate in the south-western Paarl region of South Africa, run by the Myburgh family. Its vineyards are farmed organically, with certification pending, and without irrigation; low yields, livestock grazing and limited use of non-renewable resources reflect a considered approach to sustainability. Wines are made with minimal intervention in a boutique program. The broader farm is diversified, including a deli, pork butcher, bistro, events venue, taproom, cut flowers, herbs and vegetables, giving the estate a distinctly hands-on, agricultural character.
