Founded in 1946 and organized as a cooperative in 1959, Cantina Santa Maria la Palma is a grower-owned agricultural cooperative in Sardinia, with approximately 300 member growers farming vineyards across the island. The winery emphasizes sustainability through participation in EU rural development programmes, including PSR Sardegna and the European Agricultural Fund. It is one of Sardinia’s largest producers and Italy’s leading Vermentino maker, with a substantial annual production. Its identity is rooted in collective ownership and the work of its member growers rather than a single publicly identified winemaker.
