Crown Point Vineyards is a Roger B.-owned estate in Santa Ynez, California, located between the Santa Ynez coastal range and the San Rafael Mountains, 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Its vines grow in mineral-rich, rocky soils under a mild Mediterranean climate, with sustainable practices including limited irrigation, careful canopy management, and attention to soil health. The estate focuses particularly on Cabernet Sauvignon, alongside Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Sauvignon Blanc. A retrofitted horse barn serves as the state-of-the-art winery, where traditional French oak and upright wooden fermenters are combined with concrete and stainless-steel vessels. Winemaker Simon Faury and consulting winemaker Philippe Melka oversee wines intended to express the site’s distinctive rocky terroir and establish a benchmark for Santa Barbara Cabernet Sauvignon.
